The former heavyweight champion was caught above his right eye in the third round with the injury later requiring 47 stitches.
He was twice checked by the ringside doctor before being allowed to continue and went on to win by unanimous decision.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission have now said Fury is not allowed any contact until at least October 30 and is suspended until November 14.
This is standard practice and will have no bearing on Fury’s rematch with Deontay Wilder which is due to take place on February 22.
